Greetings. I have some doubts about the trailer that came under my 13' Livingston. It's a 1959 Whidbey with coil springs. It's been updated with a new tongue, winch and new tires/wheels. It only has to move my boat with Evinrude 15 horse...and some gear, 3 gal tank, battery for electric motor, anchor etc. Any thoughts?

Nervous in Seattle.

This trailers problems include:

It's shorter than new trailers, so backing is a treat.

Painted with some rust showing through as opposed to being galvanized.

I need to swap out the lights to something from this decade.

light rust or rust holes? An afternoon with a wire wheel and an 89 cent can of rattle can black?

I spent $25 on a new wiring and light kit for my trailer. less then an hour to rewire the thing.

as far as the length of the trailer, I would just say you are going to have to get used to it unless you want to add some length to it. If it pulls fine, why worry?

if those are your only three issues, Id say you have no worries.
