1960 evinrude 5520 ring gap

I am rebuilding a 1960 Evinrude 5520. I can’t find the ring gap specs. Please help.

Anywhere from 0.012 t0 0.020 will get you a good runner.----Worked on a 59 model recently and it still showed factory machining marks on the rings.----Some of these fishing motors do not get much use.----What is your ring gap now ?

I only had compression of 30, so I replaced rings. Had to get them on eBay from Greece. Gap was .007. I’ll make it .012. Thanks so much!

There was no mention in post #1 of the fact that you have new rings in your hands.----0.007 is fine and will quickly seat for proper ring gap.
