I recently purchased a 1960 Evinrude 10 hp model 10020, upon pulling the flywheel, I found that whoever had replaced the coils did not allow for an airgap adjustment between the laminated heel of the coil and the flywheel magnets, I'm posting pics of the flywheel and coil damage. I plan on replacing all the ignition parts. How much damage was done, is the flywheel still good? Any thoughts and info would be appreciated.

A common goof-up. It should be ok if you just push the coils back to where they belong. The top picture looks like you already have pushed it back (?)

The best thing you can do is adjust the air gap and see if you have good blue spark after. Ive seen worse.
