HI
I AM RESTORING A 1960 JOHNSON 10HP. I AM ALMOST DONE AND JUST TRYING TO REBUILD THE CARB. MY PROBLEM IS THE CARB HAS NOT BEEN SERVICED FOR A LONG TIME. WHEN I OPENED IT THERE WAS WHITE POWDERY SUBSTANCE IN THE BOWL. THE BRASS MAIN JET SEEMS TO BE CORRODED IN ALONG WITH THE NEEDLE SEAT. ANY SUGGESTIONS ON BREAKING THEM LOOSE WITHOUT DESTROYING THEM. ANY HELP APPRECIATED.
THANKS

The white powdery stuff is corrosion from water sitting in it. Probably not much hope for getting the brass parts out. Try your favorite potions. Can't hurt and might even work. Nothing to lose at this point.

Thanks F_R. Update. I did finally get the needle seat and jet out. A little time, patience, lots of liquid wrench and vise grips.
