1960 non pressurised Evinrude 6 gal gas tank leaks at pin connection

Hi All,
I have a 1960 18 hp Evinrude Fastwin that came with a 6 gal tank of the same vintage I suspect. It is a "cruise a day" Evinrude vented tank with the 2 large prongs and 2 small pins. It has gas coming out of the moveable pin with the brass bushing. I have read how to drill out the caps and pull the springs and o rings, but no one addresses the brass bushing and o ring behind it. I need to find the parts to stop the leak and basically rebuild the connection. So......., any part numbers or links for this app would be a God send. Maybe it's cheaper to locate a whole new top connector type gauge. Thanks,

No it is always cheaper to repair if you are doing the work yourself.----Replace those o-rings.-----shop.evinrude.-----For the part numbers.

agree that orings are cheap, and easy to do

Remove core plug, pin and spring. Then stick a suitable pin or punch in the hole in the brass washer and rock it back and forth and it will come loose and fall out. Replace the o-ring and reinsert washer and stake it in with a hammer and screwdriver. Be aware there are two sizes of those o-rings, teensy and more teensyer. You need some sort of idea what year the tank was made. Hint: note that some have the hose connector clip on horizontal, some vertical.

Thankyou F_R for the oring sizes. Of course teensy is what they sent but teensyer is what I needed. Got the other off a 66 diagram and hope it fits. It's always "the other one". heh heh. The oring is a dollar but the shipping is $8-----of course. The hose connector clip was vertical. Appreciate the help, all of you. God bless.
