1960s ish unkown aluminum boat transom repair

This boat has been in my wife's family since the 60s, I think. Not sure who the manufacturer is. Does anyone have any ideas? Also need suggestion on getting the transom in. My plan is to remove the knees as the top corners are part of the entire top rail. Just drill out rivets and replace?

I am a fiberglass guy. So not the best to listen to. From what i was seeing yes your approach is correct. Seal the rivits going in. There something they do there a certain rivit.

Now i spoke someone will see it and set it straight. Get er done.
