1961 Seahorse 5.5hp, in replacing the water pump impeller, the drive shaft which is mounted in a spline into the powerhead (engine) came out and it appears that up at the powerhead unit, the shaft was assembled by a retaining cap, spring, o-ring, washer and bushing.

The bushing cracked in half - any ideas on getting the replacement bushing?

Also any ideas on how best to re-assemble the driveshaft to the power house unit?

Parts at any Evinrude dealer. Or, on-line at http://shop.evinrude.com/ It doesn't go back that old, but just look at the 1968, same seal parts. That seal is vital to the long term health of the powerhead internals. Make sure everything is perfect.
