1961 evinrude 10 hp???

Hi, are the pinion gears from a 1961 evinrude 10hp, the same as the 1957 evinrude 10hp? Can I swap pinion gears?

I don't have the parts manuals for those motors, but I don't think you can. I believe they started using the smaller lower unit from the 7.5 hp in 1958. That is probably why your pinion is shot in the first place.
