Hello !

I'm reopening a new topic about the restauration of a '61 Evinrude Starflite III 75 HP, that has been stored in my family's garage for more than 15 years !!
I don't really know if it's in a bad shape or not, so I'm looking for any advice about how to bring it back to life !
In a previous topic, some members had a PDF Manual which I would really be interested in as well.
I'll come back with more photos pretty soon.
Thank you !

Squirt some oil in her cylinders and take a compression test. The compression will be 90PSI (give or take), but as long as it is even, she can be made to run.

Do you have all the parts? The picture shows the pan is missing, as well as the starter solenoid box.

Thanks David, I'll read that tonight (and try to translate most of it), it seems to be exactly what I'm looking for to begin.

I haven't done a complete check of all the parts because i's been sitting in the garage with many parts disassembled, and I still don't have the proper complete manual (I found one for the 1963 starflite 75hp which is pretty much the same as far as I can see)
I'll take some photos of all the parts I have and try to post it tonight !
Thanks for your reply anyway !

Update :
I started to disassemble the cylinder head (broke a couple of corroded screws but manage to take them out anyway) to clean it up.
Here are all the parts I found in the garage (some may be missing) : see pictures
I also took a few pictures of the boat I'm trying to restore as well. After some research it seems to be one of the first boats that were built by "jeanneau shipyard" and I found a pic from 1957 on which a boat quite alike is running the "6 heures de Paris" race ! I've been told that the boat might be an unique piece, so it might be difficult to find any schematics or any photos to restore as it was supposed to be.
All the pictures are available on the following link :
