Hey guys, i called it mysterious only because I do not know where or if it needs to be connected too, I followed it all the way into the I " assume the Junction box where the batter wires are connected to. From there I cannot tell where it goes as i think from what I can see it stops here.

I uploaded a photo of the black wire which is resting on the coil below.

Please and thank you for any help someone can give me to where it should go or if its a not needed black wire.

The wiring and coil are added by someone.-------------The original coil is inside the magneto----------Hard to tell what some folks do on these motors.---------I think that was the kill wire for the ignition when it left the factory.

Interesting how they drilled into the magneto housing to feed the coil wire to get to the rotor.---Simply amazing what some folks will do.

Racer, When I converted my magneto to battery/coil ignition, I drilled the distributor cap to get to the rotor.

No the motor does not run, I checked the points and rotor and checked the gap at .020. Brand new champion plugs, carb rebuilt new starter new fuel pump.
Not sure what the problem is I also timmed it.
