1961 Johnson problems

I have a 1961 75hp Johnson. When I throttle it, it dies out. I rebuilt the fuel pump, bought new plugs but that didn't solve the problem. It also seems as though one of the 2 cylinders gets hotter than the other. Unsure if the spark plugs are firing right. Finally, there is fuel linking into the water when I ran it in a drum. Can anyone help with these problems?

any suggestions on where to locate a carb rebuild kit? Do you also think there could be anything other than the carb due to the problems?

LouieD...get the kit a Evinrude dealer, and don't forget to replace the float if it's cork. I assume that it's the stbd side that runs warmer, as long as you can touch it without burning your hand should be ok. A little oil and gas when running in a drum is normal with 2 stroke motors, specially one of that vintage running a 24:1 gas oil mixture...just a Thought
