1962 Boston Whaler

I am about to buy an Old Whaler, Boat, Engine ,Trailer.<br />All components need TLC, the Price is right. $ 900.00 for all.<br />It will be a winter project for me.<br />It floats and runs ok.<br />The boat especially needs some minor patching with Marine-Tex, then Paint.<br /><br />I would greatly appreciate web sites for help, etc.<br /><br />Thanks

My neighbor has a late 60's whaler that he has had for 3-4 yrs.... he started hearing water sloshing in the side of the boat and was going ape trying to find out how it got in there. After drilling a few drainage holes we found out a previous owner had had a little Boo-boo right on the chine and repaired it with marine-tex and just painted the entire boat. The marine tex had lifted (couldn't even see it really) enough so that under power, water was seaping into the hull because of the pressure. <br />We repaired the damage acording to Boston Whalers instructions found here: http://www.continuouswave.com/whaler/reference/whalerRepair.html
