I have another thread for the electrical and also one for the motor but it has been a while since I have had replies for my motor thread so I am going to start another thread with a better subject name as I have realized the best way to get help is to post motor description in the subject name. I have a old evinrude lark and am currently finishing up the electrical on the motor. I start it and hardly any water comes out of the pee hole (excuse my lack of a better term) when it warms up and I rev the motor a bit more comes out but it is never a steady stream. My question is this normal, the water coming out seems hot but I haven't hooked up my temp. warning light yet. I haven't run the motor for an extended period of time because I don't want it to overheat. I guess what I am wanting to know is what would be considered a normal amount of water coming out of this hole. I need to get a factory service manual but that could take up to three weeks so I am going to order it and hope somebody can halfway walk me through this question of mine as I would like to get this boat on the water soon. I have heard that this motor has a thermostat on it but I cant seem to locate it on the motor. Also correct me if I am wrong, the motor is in neutral when no voltage is applied to the shift coils, I read that it was in forward with no voltage, but I pulled the plugs and turned it over and the prop only spins when voltage is applied to either of the two coils. Sorry for the long post and thanks in advance I have learned so much from these forums in such a short period of time.
