I've lined uo the fly weel with the mark on the mater jackit cover. And the distributer weel with the mark on the bract that holdes the distributer in place. New cap, points, wires, and plugs.(J4C). Coil is good. Compreshion is good. And the carb is clean. She will not fire, or start. Using the thimming lite. I see there is spark in wires 1 & 3. But nothing in wires 2 & 4. What am I doing wromg.  MJV   Mix set at 50:1.

Port is left. Easy way to keep that straight is that both words consist of four (4) letters.

Standing in back of the boat, looking at the engine, port is to your left, starboard is to your right.

Cylinders 1 and 3 are starboard cylinders. Cylinders 2 and 4 are port cylinders.

Standing at the back of the boat facing forward, port is the left side (watch-hand if you're right handed). :D P-O-R-T = four letters,
L-E-F-T = four letters.

Wish I could be more help.

g'luck & c/6

Hooty

OK - Dumb question, you have cleaned and set both sets of points?

If so, look for arcing on plug wires, cracked insulation. Check ground of spark plugs.
