I have a 10 hp 1963 Johnson, I just replaced coils, condenser, points and water pump. This thing runs great, I took the prop off and I don't have a washer behind the prop. According to the manual it appears that there should be one. If so, where does it go and can I just get one from the local fleet farm that will fit?

Not positive, but I thought the 10 hp was a pin drive prop. If so, no washer. if it is a splined prop a thin Stainless washer to slightly space it is all it should need.

Sounds like a fits-all manual picture. There is no washer behind the prop on a 1963 10hp. However, a few models did have a protective stainless steel washer pressed onto the bearing housing to keep fish line out of the seal. Don't worry about your 10--it isn't broke.

No it is not splined, it runs well, just making sure on the washer. I didn't feel much movement when I pulled it back and forth on the shaft, Thanks Guys!!!!
