1963 40 hp sea king

can i use the same 2 cycle oil i use in my chain saw to mix with the gas and when the motor is running does it put a charge back in the battery.thanks

No, ernest, do not use chainsaw oil in a water cooled outboard. Use only TC-W3 rated outboard oil.

I think a generator was optional on that engine.

If it has the generator kit, it is a belt driven unit similar to the starter, but on the opposite side of the carburetor.

The battery is only used for starting the motor, so it will last a long time between charges unless you have a lot of accessories in the boat.
