1963 75hp johnson seahorse- still not peeing

I changed the impeller and the seals on the lower gearcase. Do
I have to wait for the thermostat to open before it pees. Or is it supposed to pee imediatly after starting...if so any Ideas on the problem??Oh and thanks for the advice on the impeller..

Not sure what you are expecting! My 1962 Johnson 75HP motor did NOT have a telltale/peehole like later models. Warm water should be exiting your motor halfway down the rear of the lower unit via an outlet approximately one inch diameter anytime the motor is running. Lots of water comes out when you are running at higher RPM's on the lake/river/etc., NOT a hose!

Correction! I misspoke. The water outlet really isn't on the lower unit. It is on the driveshaft/exhaust housing about six inches below the lower engine cowl.

Highlander, Willyclay is correct. Also, no water will exit from this hole until the thermostat opens. If you do not get any water after a minute or so, and the heads are getting hot, you should inspect and test the thermostat. It should be in the black plastic box directly under the distributor, in the lower cowling.
