While I've been tinkering with my TN-28 I ran across this on Craigslist.

Are the 3horses good for trolling only? Are there any pros or cons when comparing them to the TN series outboards? What's a fair price for one of these and the stand?

those are great little motors, but that one is way overpriced . i wouldnt pay any more than $200 with the stand.....and that would only be if the ignition, carb and water pump have recently been overhauled. jmo

The 3hp is a motor with a purpose. That would be the weedless / shallow water drive for getting back in where the fish are. That comes at a small sacrifice in speed, but it is not bad for a 3hp.

It also has the more modern carburetor.

Direct start - n- go drive (no neutral or shift.) Pivots 360 degrees for reverse.

A very sweet, smooth running motor, if correct.
