I recently became the owner of a 1963 75 Horsepower Johnson sea horse electric shift (model number v4al-15e) that has been sitting in a garage for the last 10 years. I am in the process of trying to get it to run and came across my first problem. I only have spark on one side of the engine. The only troubleshooting I have done is I looked at all the wiring and made sure they were not torn up and made good connections, which that all appears to be in descent shape. Any ideas as to what my problem is? I am completely new to boating and boat motors, so please be patient with me.

Thank you

There are two sets of points, each one fires one bank. One set is faulty, dirty, set wrong, or does not have the wire installed that connects it to the other set of points.
