1963 johnson rds-25d 40hp - please confirm flywheel nut size

Can someone please confirm that the flywheel nut size for this is 1 1/8"

It has always been 1-1/16"

Dang! - I misplaced my flywheel nut on my 56 evinrude 30hp - which I am guessing is the same as you have,
And recall that the size you mentioned MAY be it - but honestly - all I can recall is that it was a fine thread pattern and that the hardware store had a replacement for less than a dollar. Ended up finding the original - which had a very slightly thinner profile.

pro-, your '56 is different than the '63. The '63 indeed is 1 1/6". Torque is 100-105 ft. lbs.
