so i did a carb job with a new kit, replaced all the fuel lines including the tank line and bulb as well as the tank, i have been using sea foam in the gas since i got my hands on this motor, the problem is i only have about half throttle in WOT, i did a compression test and they are all within 10 of each other
#1 84 psi
#2 87 psi
#3 94 psi
#4 85 psi
i used a barrel to warm her up before the test for the first time (i was taking her to the lake up the road before) there was black oil on top of the water after i shut her off, didnt notice before cause i was on the lake, i then noticed that there is oil leaking from the exhaust gasket so i took off the heads and there wasnt as much carbon in there as i was expecting, no scratches or gouges on the pistons or cylinder walls, the #3 head has some pitting in behind the head, all the plugs have a little bit of oil on them except for # 3 it seems alot dryer then the rest, before i did the compression test i used a spark plug and wire tester and they where all getting spark as well as the wires, i held all the plugs on the block in the garage previously to see the spark as well, the timing marks are lined up as well< gonna try to up load a couple pics
not sure what to do next?
- could the leaking gasket b causing all of this?
- shouldnt all of the cylinders have a reading over 100 psi?
- dont know what to do next any ideas would be greatly appreciated,
- could i just have the cylinders honed and new rings put in as well as new gaskets?
