1964 merc 20hp carb float spring

Can anyone please tell me where the tiny spring on the carb float goes? Mine has fallen out and had the float stuck. Got it out but don't know where it goes.<br />Thanks for help

It goes in the hole in the top and needs to stick out 5/64 to 3/32 above the top of the float
