Has anyone had previous experience with an MFG Transom rebuild, found out that I have some rot in mine and debating if its worth the money to rebuild my transom or just sell. She still has her original outboard and equipment, I'm open to ideas and if someone has had personal experience with MFGs. Thanks

Is it worth it?? Here's the deal, if the transom is bad, there's a very good chance that you have issues with the stringers etc. A total rebuild could cost 2-3K and 2-300 hours of work. Good news is she'd be like new, bad news is IT's A LOT OF WORK! Trying to buy a good used boat without it having similar issues...Not Likely!!! If you like the boat and it suits your needs...It's worth it.

IMHO this IS the best MFG restoration thread on the Forum...

Welcome aboard !
Which model do you have ? Good news is it should have all fiberglass deck and stringers .
more good news is the splash well should just unscrew and be able to pull out of the way .
I did use seacast on my transom but you can use plywood just as easy to replace .
Need picks !

btw,Woody , thanks for the complement but I would have been lost if not for the help and guidance of you and the rest of the crew here on Iboats !
