I am working on restoring my 64 starcraft fiberglass hull. It has fiberglass stringers and are sturdy but rotted wood inside. Thoughts on putting wood next to stringers, refiberglacing, and then putting foam in between. Any thoughts would be appreciated

It would not have any strength..

If they are fairly sturdy. Carefully reference their location, cut them out, pattern new ones out of plywood, and re install the new ones in a peanut butter resin mixture, then glass them in.. you'll need to grind all the fiberglass to fresh sanded glass

In the picture you can see the stringers and I will try to find a picture of my idea. Thinking of doing something like this, except in between and on top of fibreglass ridges attaching 1x3 " boards, to provide the stability. Then foam

It won't work, as I said. they appear to be 'sturdy' only due to the fiberglass tabbing applied over them

I understand what you mean. The boat was perfect and performed great except some soft spots in the plywood floor . So I decided to rip it up and put new marine plywood down. Watched a few videos where they added 1x3 blanks alongside the fiberglass ridges and haven't heard if it worked or the boat sank. Thank you for the info

The boat wasn't perfect, it was rotted. Your stringers are rotted, and your transom is most certainly. There are only 2 Safe choices... Fix it correctly, or junk it. There is no way to know if the band aid repair you do may or may not hold, you would for sure want a VHF radio capable of calling for pan pan or mayday since this CAN happen

Thank you for the info. Transom is not rotted, no stress marks on either side of it also. Currently holds a "64" Johnson 40hp and my 200 lb frame can jump on it with no bowing. But I thank you
