I've got a '65 33hp manual start remote motor and need to add electric start to it. It's a real bear to pull start these days and with a shoulder injury it's getting painful to start the motor.
What other motors can this flywheel come from? I've got a 1962 Gale 25 with electric start the appears to have the same style flywheel. Does anyone know if this would work? The starter and bracket fit the block and the flywheel appears to be the same diameter but I've not taken either motor apart yet.
I also want to retain the recoil starter. I'm not worried about charging the battery or having a remote choke, I just can't deal with pulling the rope anymore.

Re: 1965 33hp flywheel

if the starter brakets fits and the starter gear is a match for the flywheel teeth then I see no problem. There are others on here who may have way more experience than me that can confirm this to be true or what changes you might need to make. Either way I sure its an easy change. My charts for interchange do not go back that far but Im sure it can be done.
