I'm assuming that the powerpack is bad. Is there an easy way to check if it's a bad powerpack or something else like a bad ground? I don't know too much about these engines but I did change the points myself. I believe I have them setup correctly. I have the top point open when the cam is in the top position and the lower point open when the cam is in the 90 degree position.

I don't have a manual for your engine but you should have one. If you have coils on this engine look for cracks in them that allow your spark to arc to the block or somewhere else that they shouldn't. If you can swap your coils then try that and see if the lack of spark follows the coil.

I got it running last night. I regapped the points and played with the timing.

If you have the same problem check to see if both of your points are getting a current. I had someone help me adjust the timing so I'm not sure how to explain it exactly. You have to adjust the linkage so that the spark is firing on all of the cylinders.
