Hey Guys,
I just picked up a 1966 Chrysler Flamingo?

I need some help figuring out who made this boat, I think it was right around time when Chrysler bought out Lone Star and West End, could this be something they had laying around?

So a couple Question:
- Is this a Chrysler boat? ( I assume because it has all the C stickers etc)
- Is this a Foam Pac boat? I've read some people love that and some hate it? How can I tell if mines still in goo shape?
- Taylor Made Spot light on front with swivel knob on dasy, seems bound up anyone ahve any luck on taking those apart ant getting them moving again?
- Any thoughts on adding a back bench to this guy?

Also wouldnt mind hearing about the good and the bad, that you've had or have heard of from this type of boat?

Will take some better pics when I get home

Thanks for the

Take a look at the Chrysler Crew brochures. I don't see a 1966 Flamingo, but the 1967 brochure has a listing. It's a Chrysler boat regardless of being a Lone Star or Chrysler design. http://www.chryslercrew.com/ Yes, it's Foam-Pac construction, but don't expect much to be left of the foam after 52 years unless the boat led a very sheltered life.

As far as being a good or bad boat, 52 or 51 years is too long ago to pass judgement on the the original. Today it's all about condition and how much care was taken to preserve her.

Just picked up the other day, no mods yet. Other Then maybe a bench in the back. I’m taking apart the Taylor Made cable swivel spotlight today, cables all jamed up in it.

Anyone ever use Rusteolum Wipe plastic renew stuff? This boats never going to be a show boat but would like shine it up a bit.

A bit late seeing this. As far as getting her shined up, I personally, used Mothers cut, buff, and final shine on my 71 Silverline project. Used a power buffer on it. It did wonders for the shine. Not to original, but got from 0 to 4 inches of depth out of it.

I just got my Taylor Made spotlight to glow again. Replaced the bulb.....and for your future reference, the part number is 4416 (GE 12V 30W) for that bulb. Found that from a lot of research and several trips to the parts store. I did upgrade the connection to that bulb from bare wire to an actual connector. LOL Now I just need the cable that moves the spotlight. It didn't come with a cable when I got the boat.
