When I had problems with rewiring the controls this forum was a lifesaver :))

I rewired everything and took it out a couple times. Working pretty good. Last time at low RMPs the motor was shaking so I decided to change the gear lube and I did change it. But recently i noticed that the gearcase lube is leaking out. I believe i need to change the seals. I also noticed that the old lube was milky which means water leaking into gearcase. So I need to be sure of certain things before taking the lower unit off.

Is there any electrical wire that I need to disconnect before taking off the lower unit?
Do I need to take the front shroud off (Is there a bold inside the shroud)?
What are the part numbers for the seals?
What is the part number for the water pump?
Do I need to take the gear out completely to change the seals?

Can you please help me sort this out? Thanks in advance.....

The back lower cowling needs to come off.----The shift wires need to be disconnected and fed down the exhaust housing.------Work carefully as the parts are a bit spendy.

The most important part to get is the proper(factory) service service manual for that engine. There usually some on eBay for sale. Avoid the generic Manuals, they tend not to cover the Electric Shift very well. There are some seals that don.t require disassembly of the case, or the gears to come out. The seals under the water pump for the driveshaft, and the prop shaft seals for example. Don't forget the rings under the screws. The only two seal points requiring separating the bullet from the housing are the seal between the bullet ad the shafthousing, and when the wires need replacing. The cable is self sealing upon installation.
BRP Premium Blend, or Type C oil is the ONLY oil specified for that unit. Well some OMC manuals say ATF can be used, but I mtyself wouldn't use it.
