I have a 1967 evinrude 6hp that will start up and idle and rev up to fast idle but when putting it in the water under load it does not have any power. What can I do?

Check your spark... they can run pretty good on one cylinder.

Did you do an air gap spark test? You could also open the slow speed a bit and see if it helps. No power is as above, normally a lack of spark to one cylinder. Best of luck. Rick.

I have a tester that plugs into the spark plug wire and then is grounded
