I got this boat from my friends dad for free. Its a I think 1964 Glasspar Avalon, He says it floats. I redid a little bit or fiber glassing on the inside were you bolt the seats in. I cant find any engine tune up parts. It runs like it is but just not so well. I need plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor, and a coil. Is there a store in Seattle that carries older boat parts, or a good online store. Thanks in advance. :)

That stuff is probably all avail. You need to check with some older dealers. Points and condenser are most often replaced parts. Inspect the coil, dissy cap, wires and rotor, as they are more pricy, and don't usually go bad too ofter. Search the web for a discount.

Just in case you are not pulling our leg, you have the best of all obsolete parts dealers right there in Seattle. http://www.sea-way.com/index.htm

I am not pulling your leg, I can get some pictures if you would like shes kinda ungly right now but I like it. The rotor and points are pretty bad looking the boat had been sitting for a while and the wires are old a brittle feeling the cap might be ok but i think i would prefer to get everything done at once. thanks for the site.

I was just sort of surprised that you didn't know about Sea Way, that's all. We know about them here, 3000 miles away.

In case you haven't already discovered it, the wires screw into the cap. The cap is rather pricey. The rotors gave quite a bit of trouble. Make sure the new rotor has a dab of dielectric grease inside the hole. That helps prevent the trouble.

FR what trouble is this you speak of ?
Daub of dielectric in what hole?
Only trouble I've heard mentioned was with using the wrong rotor.
