I have a 1967 skifcraft all wooden boat.Really good shape for its age,I mean everything works and works good.Runs great and was well taken care of.The only problem I have is the fact that the trailer it is on is an older(original)holsclaw rollers down the center and smaller bunks near the rear.Very apparent that the 2x4 bunks in the rear/and the rollers down the center are not good support. It actually caused the rear off the boat hull to HOG..One side more than the other.Three feet in front off the transom and stops at the place the wooden 2x4 bunk stops..Wondering if re-bunking with 2x6 and more bow support and rear support will correct the hogging.I have been told may be able to let sit on the new correctly braced trailer with water in the hull??to speed up the process.Any info and or help would be greatly appreciated.I will try and get you guys pics....

Hello Ranger and welcome to Iboats..

If im getting you right .. that the bunks do not ride evenly on the hull ? too short and tipping the boats to one side or the other ?

If so then you could try to trailer the boat, shim the boat evenly, then measure how high the bunks need to be. Then rip a 2x6 ( or whatever ) to the size you need. Carpet and mount.

Hope this at least gets you going on a solution..

YD.

Not really,The boat road level on the inferior trailer. It just seemed like to small of a trailer and the wood bunks say 4ft long, extended over the back of the trailer supporting the boat. The weight of the engine and boat over time made the bunks bow downward. Thus causing the hull to (hog).Update though I just purchased a very nice well built trailer with longer wooden bunks that will support the boat very nicely. It will help I just hope it makes the hogging disappear over time. Thanks for your reply....
