Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone has any Starcraft 16' parts for sale from the late 1960's... I've got a 1967 Starcraft 16 foot and I'm currently looking for the back doors of the transom. You know where you store the gas and all that. Mine are missing and I would like to cover that up with the original looking fashion.

Please pm me if you got em and price + location.

Thank you,

PS: I'm apologizing in advanced if this is bad place to post this, however I though since this is a Starcraft Boats forum area and seen other people have parts here why not. I do apologize if I'm wrong.

You might find something on the Starcraft Parts thread. I had to make my own sliders and you can check them out on my resto thread below. Look around in the Posts for this May/June.

you won't likely find any old ones you want to use. almost everyone has to replace those when they restore their boat.

if you still have the aluminum tracks, the actual sliders are easy to cut from 1/2" plywood. suspect you could get the exact measurements from a 16' owner on here....easy shape to cut, just use a circular saw with straightedge and tape edges before cutting so cut line doesn't splinter. the factory handles on mine look like cabinet hardware from Lowe's....you might want to replace any screws with stainless ones tho.

Mine were missing on the Nassua so I cut them from the left over plywood from the transom/dash replacement. the upper track is built in to the splashwell and I bought 2 pieces of aluminum track from lowes for the bottom, screw down with SS screws. Still looking for handles, the ones at the marine store in Raleigh wanted $22. apiece

I see, yeah I've got nothing and thank you for your reply guys. I appreciate it.

Seems I'm going to get into this and do one of my own custom made then with a little bit of help from lowes and hommo (home depot) :) Thank you.

Cat - What model SC do you have? If it's a Nassau, do you still have the breather panel (the name escapes me) in the center? I still have the original doors in the pic below. I can get the measurements if you need. Capt. Mills doors are non-standard now (wider) and look good. I don't think he had the center. Since I'm penny pincher, I used two of these for handles and had door handle/rod holder all in one attached to the outer edge of each door..

You can try but I think Apple is after me for patent infringement. Watch out for process servers. LOL

GA, first I was confused then read the post again and that's a cool idea. I did not have the "breather panel" but I do have vents topside for that area in case someone was going to do something like that. That area needs ventilation! gas, batteries, bilge.

CM - That might be one of the Nassau model year changes. I have the under splashwell vent panel (1966) and you have the topside vents (1965).

cat, how many knees are on the transom? from the stern pic it looks like one. I think the nassua's alway's had 3. take a pic under the splashwell and post.
