I have a 1968 Sea Star boat runs and looks awesome. I have used it for two summers and now it's time to replace the soft floor. So i pulled up some of the wood floor and there is two stringers running length wise with the boat. My question is does anyone know what the stringers are made from on this year? They seem to be solid and not rotten at all. They don't look like wood. They almost look like a wicker chair woven back and forth. Any idea's? this is driving me nuts!!

Without pics is hard to know for sure, but from your description, prolly what you're seeing is heaving woven roving fiberglass that was used to overlay either foam or wooden core stringers. like J n' G says, Pics will help us to give you proper guidance
