I just had the points and condensers replaced, new plugs, new carb kit. since then, it hasnt really had a good work out till today. I took it out for a good run, then about an hour later, after I start it up and run it for about 30 seconds, it starts to surge at WOT, if I keep it at WOT it will die. if I let it idle down, it keeps going.

any advice?

Surging could be caused by poorly gaped or dirty points, but with it stalling out I have to wonder about the condition of your fuel pump. Was your tank vented? Next time it happens try pumping your bulb and see if that brings it back to life. If it does you either have a plugged screen in the tank or pump or your pump is just getting weak. Best of luck. Try squeezing the fuel bulb when it starts to loose power.

Does sound like fuel pump.
