Ok, here is my story for the Mem. weekend.

). Get boat in water. Will not start. Remove kill switch, starts fine.
). Shifter is stuck in forward gear, regardless of shifter position. Fun Factor(FF) = 6, but hey, I can still go forward right.
). Slow to take off, like it's pulling 5 tubers and 2 skiers. FF = 3
). Give it a little more gas, say 1/2 throttle, starts moving nicely. FF = 7
). Floor it, boat launches and runs like a raped ape for 30 seconds(no offense to apes). FF = 10
). Let off throttle back to idle because my a**hole is shrinking from the speed(only a 13'10" boat) and it starts the hard, sluggish pull again. FF = 3
). Try and accelerate 3 more times. No accel., but it felt as if it wanted to, like if I could just find the exact right throttle position it would go. FF = 1.
). Had to idle the 1/4 mile back to shore.

Now oh wise master boaters, what just happened to my engine. Hard acceleration, lagging, and the shifter stuck in forward? The shifter wires are correctly assembled (I am a MI state/ASE certified automotive Elec.). My guess, timing or plugs.
