1968 Erude 40 hp Lark. Phillips screw?

1. When changing gear oil my manual keeps warning me not to remove the phillips screw or else. Am I right in suggesting this model does not have a phillips screw? 2. Is the negative lead from the battery attached to the motor via a bolt on the starter motor bracket? Apologies in advance if these questions seem a bit stupid.

1) Your Lark is electric shift right? If so, there's no phillips screw. It forms the pivot for the shift fork, and electrics don't have one.<br />2) Yeah, that's usually where it's connected. The bottom bolt/stud is the one.
