Hey Guys!
I’m new to the forum, but have been reading posts to get repair tips for a while. I have a 1968 Evinrude 18HP fastwin. I have the manual and am at a total loss. I’ve had this motor for over a year now. I have rebuilt practically everything and it’s cranking on one pull. However, it’s not cooling. My intake ports are not clogged. I installed a new impeller and I’m convinced it’s correct, but I’m still not getting water. I saw a video about testing the pump off the motor in a bucket. I can’t see water actually getting in the pump, as if it’s not being pulled into the pump. You guys are awesome, and I’m sure I’m missing something dumb. Your help will be much appreciated! Thanks in advance.
