1968 Lark 40hp Wont Stop!!!

Hi Guys
I've changed the float back around to the correct position and now got the old girl running smoothly.
my only prob is that it wont shut down.
All ideas welcomed.

There are two black wires coming out from under the magneto plate (in addition to the spark wires). One goes to the center terminal of the vacuum cut-out switch, then onward to one of the "M" terminals on the key switch. The second one goes directly to the other "M" terminal on the key switch. When you turn the key off, the switch electrically connects the two "M" terminals together. That kills the ignition, stopping the motor.

So, now examine those wires and key switch.
