1968 Merc no spark

Just bought a 1968 merc 2 cyclinder that appears to be in good shape. Problem its having is no spark from the plug. Does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem is? Thanks

Your 6HP has a standard magneto ign. system much like a lawn mower of the same vintage, one for each cyl. the only thing in common is the kill switch that shorts the points together to stop it. If disconnecting one of the wires to the switch don't help, you will need to remove the flywheel and check the points and condensers.

Thanks for the imput. Me and a buddy are going to sand the points and properly gap them. I guess after that we will check those condensors like you said. Thanks Again
