1968 special johnson 115 gt v4 advice and information needed

i have re-posted this,
this engine on this boat is apparantly quite rare i have recieved some really useful information from R JOHNSON (very informative person)
but i am needing more
questions i need answers to if possible

1 what is the lower half (factory standard or special)
2 would the engine internals be different than standard
3 if this engine, was only given to vetted people by johnson then there should be a record of whom it was given to back in 68
4 do those records still exist
5, would the original owner still be on those records
6 what is spares situation (bot needed yet as fully working)

7 what was the original outer colours and decals
8 given the picture of the boat what in your opinion would be max mph
9having not started it yet what was the engine sound like
10 am wanting to re comission the engine but do not know what service items i need because the engine maybe special and not standard
11 i would like opinions on it's worth in the market place

Your lower unit is unique to the Evinrude and Johnson V4 racing motors of that era and is not the same as the service motor.

As for the more in depth questions, you would really be better off asking over at Scream and Fly (www.screamandfly.com) in their vintage racing board. There are guys on that site who actually ran and worked on those motors and could tell you far more than we can...

It shouldn't make any difference whether you're from across the pond or not - lots of European contributors there.

i know how you feel
i registered the other day spent time with username and passwords
went to place first post and the administrator came back saying i cannot post on there
so feel helpless in getting my questions across
i have been told that scream and fly is the best for the information i want but feel frustrated that i cannot post anything
ah well will just have to hope that someone from there takes a look or if another looker has a friend who is on screamers and posts a note to them
