I have a 68 model super craft I recently purchased a lil of nothing and am wondering how to go about painting it. It being a 68 model the original color is an ugly green that has been painted over a couple of times with diffrent colors over the years but the kicker is the last owner used a latex house paint on the last coat that was applied. So my question is what is my next step. I got the pressure washer out today and give it a good bath and knocked any loose paint off, do i need to get a chemicle paint stripper and strip all paint and start fresh or can I sand smooth, primer and paint

Fiberglass boat I assume? With there being latex on there....I'd strip it.

Welcome to iboats Dry Dock.

I've only seen one SuperCraft and it was a very large fiberglass cabin cruiser(26' +). What size craft are we talking about here. Runabout, Cruiser, Fishing Boat, etc and length? Fiberglass, Aluminum, Wood?

But at best you'll need all the old paint off...especially the latex. Surface prep is the most important part of the job.

Pics would REALLY help us to help you BUT Cadwelder is correct, PREP IS the WHOLE story in a Paint Job!!!!! RO sander and 40 - 60 grit paper should make quick work of it. Post some pics so we can see. Size em to 640x480
