1969-76 40hp evinrude w/elec. shift

Where can i find a wiring scematic for a 1969-76 40hp evinrude, without ordering a book, and the water pump is not spitting water out of the pee hole and i took the thermostat out, (it was bent and not working properly) and it still doesn't. I found water in the lower unit and no clue where it came from, it has a new water pump and was wondering that when the prior owner installed the head gasket that if it was the wrong size it would cause it not to spit water.

I already tried that and I can't find a manual anywhere that has the wiring and lower unit information. That is why I am on here,to see if anyone else might know how or where I could get one of these manuals that doesn't cost more than the motor did!

In that case I would try eBay, twista.<br /><br />Everything shows up there sooner or later.<br /><br />You do need to know the exact model, though. Post your model number and we can at least help you there.
