Also can any one give me as much info about this motor. type of oil is best, which gas mixture is recommended etc.

Running in salt water won't hurt it, but it should be run afterwards in a fresh water tank whenever possible to keep the cooling circuit clear.

Salt-Away will keep built-up deposits off and out of the motor.

Double up on the recommended lubrication.

Add small zinc anodes to the top of the A/V plate to slow corrosion.

Wipe the motor down with an oiled rag after use.

Fuel ratio is 50:1 87 or 89 US octane to TC-W3 oil.

Spark plugs are Champion J4C gapped at .030.

Use high viscosity gear oil in the gearcase.

Use OMC/BRP Triple Guard Grease for grease points for salt water.

Try to find a factory service manual on Ebay; any 9.5HP Johnson or Evinrude Manual from 1968 though 1973 will work, but the more recent ones have more information. Here's a link to a used one at a reasonable price: http://cgi.ebay.com/1972-Evinrude-O...0?hash=item19b3e2c0c4&_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116

The parts manuals are on-line at the BRP site: http://shop.evinrude.com/

I'd only put 2 people in the boat for a 9.5hp motor in order to run a decent speed, but it will probably safely hold 3 with no problem. If you're ever out far from shore and your motor isn't running right, try taking the cowl off and running it. Sometimes the exhaust seals leak on those and let exhaust fumes leak into the cowl.

The owners manual for my 9.5 states that salt water use is ok, it also mentions that internal flushing is unnecessary however I always flush mine when I pull it out and I'm looking at making a flush adapter so I don't have to deal with the running in the bucket stuff when I get home late at night.
