I have aquired a very clean and nice looking 69 Fisherman that needs points replaced. I'm not familiar with this model. Can anyone tell me how to correctly remove the flywheel? The 4 holes around the outside of the flywheel are not threaded. Is it supposed to lift off after removing the flywheel nut, or do I need a special puller? Thanks in advance!

Thanks Tim! I will give it a go after work tomorrow. Hopefully it won't take much to make her purr. She's been sittin' for almost 25 yrs. (packaged up actually) It's almost like it was placed in a time capsule and preserved for all this time.

If its been sitting for 25 years, be prepared to replace points and condensors, as well as the coils, which will likely be cracked. I think I would probably replace the spark plug wires too. When you get it apart, look for a diamond shaped arrow with the word "Top" embossed next to it. This will be on the top of the cam lobe. As you mught guess, this is to set the points. Although you can time this motor, if you get the points set right, it will be timed. Get the setting as close as you can, because it doesn't take much to affect the firing of the motor.
