1969 johnson 115hp V4 #1 location on distributor

I have a 1969 Johnson 115hp V4, What I need to know is:

• <br />
• The firing order <br />
• Which tower on the distributor is number one spark plug<br />

<br />I have had the problem of the engine starting clockwise and running for 15 to 40 seconds then stopping then changing direction to counter clockwise then stalling and shearing the flywheel woodruff key.<br />Thank You for any information.

pull #1 plug. rotate piston to TDC. remove distributor cap, look to see where rotor is. That is #1.<br /><br />Firing order is 1,2,3,4<br />1 top right, 2 top left, 3 bottom right, 4 bottom left.<br /><br />Verify timing with timing light pr. manual.(something like 5 deg BTDC with the scribe mark just hitting the roller.)
