I replaced a spun out prop on my 169 Johnson outboard and took it for a test spin yesteday. This is a pin drive prop with a nose cone nut. When I pulled the boat out of the water I noticed the hub of the prop was pushed out about 1 inch and the inner part of the prop was rubbing on the gearcase housing. Does anyone have experience on this type of motor? I have looked at the online schematics many times because it almost seems like I am missing a washer or something. But It doesn't look that way. Basically the prop just slides on lining the pin up, screwing on the nose cone, and then inserting the cotter pin. Is that right?
