1969 johnson 55hp

I have a 1969 55hp Johnson with hydro electric shift but it will not leave nuetral i was wondering why it will not shift and i already found the blue and green wire and they are still getting power like they should i already checked that. The solanoid clicks a little bit but it will not shift it starts in foward and stay in foward. it has new oil in it. The switch in the shifter is working fine already have checked that out. thanks

It is possible that the solenoids are weak. Or the pump is dirty in the gearcase.<br /><br />You may have to disassemble the gearcase and do some testing.<br /><br />Have you applied 12v to the green and blue directly?<br /><br />TMD
