1969 Kiekhaffer 4 hp merc 40

this motor I have had for years and only run 2-3 times and stored in heated garage. got it out and started it and it purrs like new as well as looks like new. cant remember if this engine is water cooled cause not peeing anywhere, found a water intake under cavitation plate and assume it comes back out around the prop but dont know. the exhaust around the back of motor gets pretty warm to the touch. serial number is 2502370 anybody have info on this motor. thanks

It's water cooled...probably needs a new impeller. I bought a Seloc manual 1404 which covers all 2-cylinder motors from 65 to 89.

is it a 3.9 merc kiekhauffer? I had one first one ever for me .....it pees out the back straight down .....new impeller and its fixed be careful when the lower leg is off or youll never find reverse lol great motor I miss mine
