I was running and hit a piece of wood, tore up the alum prop bad, very out of balance. Now the tilt will not work, selnoids click but nothing happens. Was working fine untill I hit wood. Could gearing be jamned? how can I release and tilt by hand?
A '69 should have 3 bolts on the quadrant gear (I think). Prop up the drive - or have someone hold it - and remove that gear. If the teeth look okay on that quadrant gear (not jammed or all chewed up) the next phase would be to look at the worm gear inside the tilt. You might pull the tilt motor and see if it turns when not connected to the hammer coupling.
