1970 20HP Won't Idle

Hey guys. I just picked up a 1970 20HP and while it runs well, it won't idle. If you give it a little gas it's fine but as soon as you let off the throttle she dies. The guy I got it from had been running a 43:1 gasil mix. The only time I've seen it run was at his house when I bought it and he was running that mixture. He said something about the carb might need cleaning.

Any ideas?

sounds like the low speed circuit is dirty in the carb. a simple overhaul should fix that. I think too on that model the idle adjustment is on the throttle attachment. might just be needed bumped up a bit.
